Shut Your Mouth
Psalm 39:1 NKJV
1. I said, “I will guard my ways, Lest I sin with my tongue; I will restrain my mouth with a muzzle, While the wicked are before me.”

This is a prayer from David to God for wisdom and forgiveness.
Notice:
1. I said, (David said), I will guard my ways.
2. I will guard my ways, so I don’t sin with my tongue.
3. I will restrain my mouth with a muzzle while the wicked are before me.

Child of God, in this verse David is asking God for help in self-control when he is in the presence of the ungodly.
The application for you the baptized born again believer is…
Be slow to speak and slow to anger at all times, especially in the presence of the worldly person, (James 1:19).
As God’s ambassador your words carry a lot of weight both with the saved and the unsaved.
The Bible cautions you to not cast your pearls among swain, (Mathew 7:6).
Be ready to speak life into every situation that you encounter.

Meditate on the power of the Holy Spirit who enables you to shut your mouth.
Thank God for His leading and guidance.
Grace, mercy, and peace will be with you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. ( 2 John 3)
